The deculture celebration returns Super Dimension Con (10AM – 6PM) honoring the 1982 classic anime series Super Dimension Fortress Macross aka Robotech, held at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. Received an awesome pair of SDC sunglasses and event program when entering. Performing live in the Main Hall is this year’s “Guest of Honor” music artist Eririn singing her newest song “Thinkin’ Bout”. Inside the lobby Arcane Nyan Nyan Maid Cafe serves up a unique selection of food, desserts and drinks. Okamoto Kitchen food truck returns serving their exclusive special SDC curry or gyudon bento with Max and Mariya themed drinks. Always great to see Lionel Lum and his 1/400 scale SDF-1 Macross transformation, along with his other built creations on display inside the Super Dimension Museum with Macross related products, memorabilia, collections and Customs Contest. The BJD & Vinyl Dolls Los Angeles community figures were also on display. 1/55 VF-1Transformation Contest and Collectible Auction with items donated and signed by illustrator and mechanical designer Hidetka Tenjin all happening in the Courtyard. Music provided by Tune In Tokyo with DJ ShowaPOP spinning the tunes all day. Shop in the Vendor and Artist Alley and find deculture toys, figures, collectibles, art, apparel, books and so much more. As always, closing the event with the Macross Idol Contest (pictured above), congratulations to all the winners. Thank you Super Dimension Con, Jason and staff for having me again this year.
Peace!
