Thanks to Pacific Media Expo (PMX) for having Chopblock again to attend this years 11th annual Asian pop culture event held at the Los Angeles Airport Hilton (November 7th – 9th). Guest of Honor include Character Designer – Kazuko Tadano, Animation Director – Hiromi Matsushita and Music – Heidi. Because of my schedule, I was only able to visit on Saturday and could only attend a few panels and workshops. I did have the wonderful opportunity to meet Kazuko Tadano, she worked as the original character designer of the popular anime series Sailor Moon, Dancouga, and Nobunagun, just to name a few. She is too cool. Cosplayers were in full force as always in fantastic costumes in the Red Zone and walking though out the hotel. I really enjoy the PMX Swap Meet where attendees, not vendors, can set up shop and their sell items. There were lots of vendors in the Exhibit Hall and many talented artists to meet and shop from in the Artist Market. The Karaoke room seemed to be where all the energy and fun was at, while the US Pump Festival was really entertaining. The Game Room had video, board, card and the traditional Japanese game Go. Crunchyroll provided the goods for the Anime Video Room. I’m gonna have to try the Blue Room Cafe next time, it had Sailormoon theme. With so much activities going on from the Vocaloid Concert to PMX dance, it really is an all day event. Thanks to PMX and staff for another awesome event and hope to see you again next year.
