RAMEN YOKOCHO

Today was the first day of the Ramen Yokocho held in Little Tokyo for Nisei Week. I was honored to be invited by DJ Oggy to DJ on stage for this event, unfortunately, I couldn’t stay for long since I had another gig and would return tomorrow. I did get to see the Day-Lee Foods Gyoza World Eating Championship with Joey Chestnut winning the contest with 377, among a cast of eating celebs. Great to see my friend Steve Inouye, who served as Nisei Week President last year. On day two of the Ramen Yokocho and also the final day of Nisei Week, the stage was a full day of bands, comedians and DJs rocking the crowd. Live performance by Candy Bomber, Lolita Dark, Ki-yo, Nana & The Happy Cats, Kazumi Kusano and many more. DJs Icy Ice, Mark Luv, Remark, Orion, G-No and Oggy providing the music on the turntables. I finally had a chance to walk around and taste test all the different food booths from yakitori to tempura and of course ramen. I had my first bite of a ramen burger and it was interestingly delicious. It was such a hot sunny day, it made it a little difficult to enjoy my black ramen, so I made a visit to the beer garden with my peeps. Thanks to Ramen Yokocho, staff and DJ Oggy for inviting me to join this wonderful festival. Shout out to Tiffany, our stage boss for holding it down.
