cb-tiny-01Yukinori Dehara returns to L.A. for another awesome show “Tiny Little Objects” (August 2nd – August 20th) at Giant Robot 2. Featuring over 200 hand made and painted figures, from everyone’s favorite Satoshi the salaryman to Morlin the alien and hundreds more in between. It was a great opening night with a huge turnout and many pieces being snatched right away, many starting at only $35. If you happen to buy one, you get an instant photo of yourself on the wall of fame next to your figure. Dehara even brought a mini pop-up shop with items only available in Japan, like the popular Hello! Kitty collaboration vinyl figure. So if your in the area, be sure to stop by and check this exhibit and the many “Tiny Little Objects”.
Peace!

Yukinori Dehara’s latest work strays from his past of creating boxed original sculptures. His latest entry into the figure world are minuscule versions of his art pieces. In what we’d call a smart move to do something completely different from the years of sculpting paper clay and then packaged to appear like a toy figure, these pieces will have it’s freedom and at the same time, be intimate. You’ll have to move in closer to see his objects.
