Thanks to Stan Lee and team for having Chopblock for the 4th annual Comikaze Expo (October 31st – November 2nd), L.A.’s biggest pop culture event held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Here you have everything from comic books, artists, writers, apparel, clubs, games, cosplay, collectibles and so much more. It was my first time attending this expo and was it better and bigger then I expected, and diffidently my favorite. The Hot Topic sponsored main stage is where all the celebrity events took place with Stan Lee, Duff Goldman, Adam West, Battlestar Galactica, Howie Mandel, Game Of Thrones, MadTV, John Barrowman, Land Of The Lost and other guests all made appearances and talked to a packed audience, so packed that I couldn’t even get close enough to get a shot. Many guest panels and workshops also took place though out the weekend. To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Tetris, an attempt to break the Guinness World Record longest link of Human Tetriminos was made and broken, congrats! I really enjoyed the movie and music props exhibit by the Renegade Effects Group and the Videogame History Museum exhibit, very cool. The lobby is where most of the cosplayers hang out to be photographed and doesn’t require a badge. An after party “Cosplay Ball” took place Saturday night right across the street at Club Nokia, free to all badged attendees, I had a friends Birthday party to attend so I couldn’t check it out. I got to meet a lot of talented peeps and had a blast there, thank you Comikaze and staff and hope to see you again next year.
Peace!
