M45 Concept Infiniti

The second-generation Infiniti M45 is set to arrive Spring 2005 (as a 2006 model year car), undoubtedly too long a wait for those who have seen the beautiful new concept version of the luxury performance car. Where the current M45 to some extent resembled an unimpressive Japanese Chevy Impala (which consequently hurt its sales), version 2.0 is closer to the popular G35 in terms of looks.

Under the hood, a 340-horsepower 4.5 liter V8 is hooked up to a five-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. The M45 rolls on 19-inch wheels and high-performance tires. Aside from the usual luxury features, a highlight of the M45 is the Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system. This recognizes lane markings and sounds off an alarm to let you know when you're about to inadvertently change lanes. My old man's gonna love that feature! Don't worry: the LDW cancels when you switch the blinker on, or use the driver cancel switch. An Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) with dual-stage front supplemental air bags and roof-mounted side-impact curtain air bags, brake-operated pre-crash front seat belts, and slide away brake pedal round out the hi-tech keep-your-ass-alive features.
